Hi Eric! I think the red foreground beastie is working really well. Putting on my critiquing hat, I think the human warrior isn't doing quite as much for me - the pose seems a little uncertain, and I'm not sure whether he's about to swing his sword or guard himself with it, lunge forward or fall back in terror.
ReplyDeleteI love the face, but you might want to play around with the rest of his body a bit to make the storytelling clearer. You could even give him a shield or something to fill the lower right corner, but that's just a matter of taste. Love the monster, though!
Thanks Mark! You're totally right, the human gesture needs to be more certain. This was supposed be a quick compositional sketch, but I got on a roll... Changes will be posted!
